The powerful masculine and feminine archetypes it demands, the deep level of awareness, empathy and surrender it requires, the sensitive communication without words makes Kizomba an intense spiritual tantric experience for me.
When I realize that the person I’m dancing with, whom I may have never met before in my life, gives me permission to enter in his very personal space, I become very quiet to listen to what his bodysoul has to tell me …
Kizomba has nothing to do with appearing sexy, but even more with connection, sensuality, sensitivity, trust, surrender, healing and melting into each other. No wonder that so many people become addicted to it.
This fascinating dance comes from Angola, where people still have a much more natural approach to vivid corporeality than we do in Central Europe.
After some years of dancing it, Kizomba feels like a kiss directly into my heart … this beautiful feeling of getting one breath, one movement, one flow, has created a smile in my heart and deep joy in my life…
This dance has also made me feel clearly where I am still resistant, anxious and tense. It helped me to get aware of my false mental projections, prejudices, expectations, and blockages that separate me from being as happy as I deserve it. And it showed me how I can finally let go of all my worries, how I can relax completely and gratefully enjoy every given moment.
All these exciting aspects of Kizomba are qualities that we also find and cultivate in the ancient Wisdom Path of Tantra. So I decided to integrate Kizomba into my Tantra Yoga seminars that I am leading all over Europe.
There are few things that are healing more than a truly warm-hearted hug – in whatever form… The blissful embrace of Kizomba & Tantra has enabled me and thousands of other people to get to know ourselves and our bodies better, to connect with each other on a very deep level, and to put just more peace, love, and touch into this world, which is needed so desperately….
